Terms of Service

These terms keep things fair for everyone. The gist: your content is yours, use the app lawfully and kindly, and you can close your account whenever you like.

Last updated: July 3, 2026

The short version

You own everything you upload; we only host it so you and your partner can see it. Don't upload anything illegal or harmful, don't attack the service, and be honest about who you are. You can delete your account at any time. We provide SharedOrbit as-is and may update these terms with notice.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using SharedOrbit ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Who can use SharedOrbit

You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age required in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EU) and able to form a binding agreement. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your sign-in credentials safe.

3. The Service

SharedOrbit is a private shared space for two people: countdowns, daily questions, photos, notes and similar features. A space is shared — content you add to it is visible to your partner, and content either of you adds may remain visible to the other under the Service's normal rules even if one of you later leaves the space. We're continuously improving the Service and may add, change or remove features over time.

4. Your content

  • You own it. You keep all rights to the photos, notes and other content you upload.
  • You give us a narrow licence. Solely to operate the Service, you grant us permission to host, store, back up and display your content to you and your partner. We don't use it for advertising, don't sell it, and don't use it to train AI models. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
  • You're responsible for it. Only upload content you have the right to share, and remember your partner can see everything in your shared space.
  • Keep your own copies. SharedOrbit is not a backup service — please keep originals of photos that matter to you.

5. Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Break the law, or upload content that is illegal, infringes someone's rights, or depicts minors inappropriately.
  • Harass, threaten or harm anyone — including your partner.
  • Upload content involving a person who hasn't consented to it being shared.
  • Impersonate someone else or misrepresent who you are.
  • Probe, disrupt or overload the Service, attempt to access other couples' spaces, or scrape data.
  • Resell the Service or use it for anything other than its intended personal purpose.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules, with notice where reasonably possible.

6. Fees

SharedOrbit is currently free to use, and founding couples get their first year free. If we introduce paid plans, we'll say so clearly before you're ever charged — nothing becomes paid silently, and you'll always be able to export or delete your data first.

7. Ending your account

You can leave a shared space or delete your account at any time from the Account page; deletion permanently removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that seriously or repeatedly violate these terms, or if required by law.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it fast, private and reliable, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and we make no warranties beyond those that can't be excluded by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or US $50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. For material changes we'll give notice in the app or by email before they take effect; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where local consumer-protection law gives you mandatory rights, those rights are unaffected.
